Looking for a friendly, self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills for a full-time Veterinary Receptionist position. Previous veterinary office experience is preferred. Prior medical office front desk experience may also be considered. Compensation will depend on prior experience. We are a fast paced two-doctor practice in downtown Detroit. Dedication to quality customer service and a passion for animals and people are a must. Some of the many responsibilities of the veterinary receptionist are as follows: managing multiple phone lines, answering client questions, scheduling appointments, replying to text/email/fax communications, keeping detailed and accurate medical records, greeting clients, processing payments, setting up stool samples, accurately filling prescriptions and ensuring the reception area remains clean and organized. We are looking for the right Licensed Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to add to our staff! The ideal candidate will have great animal handling skills, strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team. We are a bustling two doctor general practice in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit. As the oldest veterinary clinic in the country, we have some clients that have been seeing us for three generations! We focus on taking care of our clients and our patients - this includes using stress-free handling techniques whenever possible. We are a paper-free practice so computer skills are a must. Proficiency with Avimark is a plus. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays and open half day on Saturdays. No late nights or on-call required. Physical requirements include the ability to work on your feet for your shift as well as being able to lift 40 lbs. After 90 days to get to know each other, our new employees are eligible for employer paid medical coverage, PTO, licensing, and uniform allowance. Salary dependent on prior experience and training.
